Victor Chu is a Bronx based New York City photographer specializing in weddings, photojournalism and portraiture. His work has been internationally published in New York Daily News, The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, New York Post, Bronx Times Reporter and Daily Mail (UK). He has also worked for highly rated professionals like Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera.
Victor studied marketing and photography at Baruch College and participated in several extracurricular activities. Two of which were staff photographer for the yearbook and Photo Editor for The Ticker, the college newspaper.
Shortly after graduation, he was hired as a freelance photojournalist at Bronx Times Reporter, a local newspaper. He was soon promoted to staff as a Photo Editor managing a staff of 11 photographers. After a year, he started working as a full-time photographer at the New York Daily News covering numerous assignments in the Tri-State area including high profile stories such as Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the 2011 NYPD ticket fixing scandal.
Since 2005, he has been hired as a freelance photographer for thousands of events, portraits and assignments and has garnered a loyal customer base. With the success of this freelance photography business, he now focuses on weddings, portraitures and events.
He is inspired by the art of capturing people's special moments in a way that is breathtaking and beautiful. To him, photography is not a job, but a way of life.
